DBR performed MEP engineering design services for this data center in College Station, Texas. The new facility includes a data hall finish out of 13,000 SF with a power demand of 2.5MW. The project is a Tier III data center. We coordinated with the local utility provider for multiple primary electrical circuits. We specified natural gas generator sets, transfer switches, and parallel power distribution systems. The data hall is located within a two-story building, which also houses offices, classrooms, and laboratory spaces.
- Two 4,000-amp main-tie-main switchboards provide dual power paths, operational flexibility, and elimination of single points of failure to support concurrent maintenance.
- Ten 500 kW diesel generators deliver redundant backup power to maintain continuous operations during utility outages.
- Two 1,200 kW UPS systems provide conditioned, uninterrupted power to critical IT infrastructure, integrated with static transfer switches for seamless power delivery.
- 208V, 3-phase busway distribution system configured for dual-path power delivery to support high availability and uptime requirements.
- Incorporates manual and automatic transfer switches and UPS maintenance bypasses to enable load bank testing, maintenance, and operational flexibility without downtime.
This project is currently on hold.
