Founded in 1994, the Asian American Health Coalition is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of underserved and vulnerable populations across Greater Houston. Through HOPE Clinic, the organization provides comprehensive, culturally sensitive healthcare services to meet the needs of the region’s diverse communities, regardless of income or insurance status.

Located in southwest Harris County, HOPE Clinic expands access to affordable, high-quality care for underserved communities throughout the region. DBR provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design, LEED documentation, and security and technology consulting services for this essential healthcare facility.

The three-level, 80,503-square-foot facility brings together a wide range of services under one roof, including Primary Care, Dental, Optometry, Behavioral Health, Clinical Laboratory, Imaging, Rehabilitation, Pharmacy, Alternative Medical Services, and administrative offices. The design also incorporates flexible multi-purpose spaces, conference and meeting rooms, a community café, and comfortable waiting areas to enhance the patient and visitor experience. Building support and maintenance areas are carefully integrated to ensure operational efficiency and future adaptability.

Designed to foster a welcoming and healing environment, the clinic features light-filled interiors, warm wood tones, calming color palettes, and durable finishes that balance comfort with long-term performance. The lighting design and air distribution systems were thoughtfully coordinated with the interior design to enhance the patient experience while supporting staff wellness, comfort, and functionality.

The project team included PhiloWilke Partnership, Rosenberger Construction, Kudela & Weinheimer, Walter P Moore, and Project Cost Resources. With an estimated construction budget of $18.5 million, this facility stands as a vital resource for advancing community health.
