Erik MacDonald is on the Industry Advisory Council for the Texas A&M University’s Architectural Engineering Program. The IAC guides academic strategy, supports ABET accreditation, and strengthens industry-academia ties. With over 20 years in the AEC industry, Erik brings expertise in higher education design and strong ties to the Aggie community.

Hugo Avila has served on the STC Advisory Committee (SAC) for over 25 years for multiple programs including Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) and Architectural Engineering Design Technology (AEDT). The SAC reviews college degree plans, discusses industry trends, and improves programs so students are better prepared for the workforce.

Jeanette Scarsdale has been an active SMPS member since 2013 and has served on the Board for the past three years, currently as Communications Director. She has played a significant role in keeping the San Antonio chapter connected and her hard work and dedication were recognized at the Annual San Antonio Chapter Meeting, where she received Board Member of the Year in 2025.
Michael Quirl is on the Building Industry Consultant Services International (BICSI) Healthcare Technology Standards Committee. BICSI is the preeminent resource for the Connected World as a professional association supporting the advancement of the information and communications technology (ICT) profession in over 100 countries globally.
