Jackie Chang, PE serves as a Project Manager in the San Antonio office of DBR and has been with the firm since 2011. Jackie holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from Texas A&M University – Kingsville and is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and South Central Texas Chapter of the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE).
Jackie’s experience includes architectural engineering and project management for a variety of projects including new construction, additions, renovations, and system upgrades. Jackie’s technical knowledge and ability to meet project requirements in a timely manner ensure better results for our clients.
Jackie’s, personal attention to her team and clients, easygoing attitude, and sense of humor make her a valued leader in our San Antonio office.
Q&A with Jackie:
Q: What do you love most about being an engineer?
A: I love researching and problem-solving to find a solution that meets the end-users needs. Challenging projects spark my motivation and creativity. In engineering, there are endless challenges to solve.
Q: How do you ensure you and your team deliver or exceed customer expectations?
A: My team and I strive to listen to our clients and educate them throughout the process so they can make informed decisions. Communication always goes a long way and it’s something that we’re always trying to improve. Over time we develop personal relationships with our clients, we have found that getting to know them as people highly motivates us to exceed their expectations.
Q: What advice would you give to other young women considering entering the engineering field?
A: I would encourage young women to not be intimidated by an industry that’s underrepresented by women, we tend to bring a different approach and perspective that can add value.
