DBR Engineering worked with Joiner Architects to design the new Cypress Creek Fire Station 25 for Harris County Emergency Service District 13 in Houston, Texas. Located at Fallbrook Drive and Gessner Road in Harris County, the 9,500 square foot Fire Station began serving the community in January 2022. CCFD covers approximately 32 square miles of northwest Houston, serving more than 80,000 residents.
The three-bay station was built with the southern portion of the district in mind. Though previously less occupied, the area has experienced significant growth. Since becoming operational, the new station has improved district-wide response times to emergencies by one minute. Resources at Station 25 include Engine 25, Booster 25, and two high-water rescue vehicles.
DBR provided MEP Engineering, Security & Technology, and Building Commissioning services for Station 25, which is complete with crew dorms, a kitchen, lounge, covered parking, and decontamination rooms. The new space also includes additional dorms for extra staff when needed, or for the crew to invite their families in cases of flooding or emergencies. The station also has a full-time medic unit, which is run by Cypress Creek Emergency Medical Services to provide constant EMS services to residents in the area.
