DBR Announces Two New Partners

by Kat Lopez, Marketing Manager

We at DBR are passionate about making life better. We aim to improve the health, comfort, and well-being of people who occupy the buildings that we design. We also continually seek opportunities to allow our staff to grow, develop, and achieve their career goals. We are excited to introduce two of our team members who have achieved great success in their careers while upholding the core values of our firm. The newest partners of DBR are Brent Moe and Carrie West.

Brent Moe, PE

Brent joined DBR in 2009 after earning a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from Kansas State University. He achieved his engineering license in 2014 and is registered in Texas and Illinois. Throughout his career at DBR, Brent has excelled in various roles, progressing from Electrical Engineer to Senior Project Manager and Principal.

Originally from the Chicago suburbs, Brent is a hockey enthusiast. Since relocating to Houston, he has adapted to the limited number of hockey rinks in town. Outside of work, Brent enjoys cooking, playing golf, and spending quality time with his wife, Becky, and their two daughters.

Brent specializes in the K-12 education, government, and liturgical markets. He is known for his strong client interactions, combining a fun, engaging approach with a keen sense of when to focus and get things done. His responsiveness and thorough attention to detail make him an invaluable part of the DBR team.

Carrie M. West

Carrie M. West joined DBR in 2014 as Chief Financial Officer. An honors graduate from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Carrie’s career spans almost 30 years providing her a strong grasp of financial management, accounting, business leadership, and corporate strategy.

Her role as Chief Financial Officer includes overseeing all financial functions of the company, providing leadership and direction to the accounting team, and consulting with the CEO, President, and Partners regarding management of the firm’s cash, annual budgets, forecasts, M&A transactions, and ownership transition. She advises the Board of Directors and provides financial data and analysis for the firm’s leadership.

Outside of work, Carrie prioritizes family time and enjoys activities such as cooking, watching movies, and engaging in conversations with her husband Ken, and children, Madison, Ethan, JT, and Allison. Her commitment to both her career and personal life sets an example for many of us.
