DBR Engineering Consultants, Inc. has opened a new office located in Austin, TX, putting the firm in five cities around Texas. The Austin office has been in operation since early June, with headquarters in Houston and additional branch offices in San Antonio, McAllen, and Corpus Christi.

Melissa (Missy) Coad, PE, LEED AP has been hired as the Project Manager and oversees the new office while working closely with existing and prospective clients and managing and providing support to the team of engineers and designers. With more than 15 years of experience, her design experience includes high-rise office buildings and tenant improvements, K-12 and higher education facilities, jail facilities, laboratories and bio-medical research facilities.

Missy is also experienced with AutoCAD and Revit, utilizing Trane Trace 700 for performing load analyses and energy modeling. As a LEED Accredited Professional, she posses the same viewpoint as DBR in designing energy-efficient facilities and has completed a number of projects that have achieved LEED Certification or higher.

Also joining the Austin office is Nicole Ferstl, PE. Nicole has more than 14 years of experience and is registered as an electrical engineer in 14 states, including Texas. She designs functional, energy-efficient electrical systems and has experience with commercial institutions, educational facilities, laboratories, hospitals, and hotels.

DBR currently employs 96 people and has been designing commercial office buildings, K-12 and higher education facilities, municipal, healthcare, and government facilities since 1972.
