DBR’s commitment to sustainability means we strive to use the most energy-efficient yet economical systems possible. This ensures we are impacting the environment in a positive way while employing systems that provide a high return on investment. The 75,000 square foot Conroe Police Station and Court Facility we recently engineered utilizes a hybrid geothermal HVAC system. This energy-efficient, water-source heat pump system balances the annual ground loads with an auxiliary cooling tower by offsetting the capacity of the ground heat exchanger during peak periods. It also uses a much smaller, less expensive borehole field than traditional geothermal systems. The advanced control system used in this facility in conjunction with this geothermal system insures higher system efficiency and lower operational costs during both heating and cooling seasons.
The following pictures show the installation of the underground piping used in this system.
