Leisure Facilities

DBR has extensive experience in design and modification of theaters and pavilions. From auditoriums to outdoor pavilions, some challenging facets of design involves ensuring comfort for the performers as well as incorporating state-of-the-art lighting and multi-media equipment.

Blockbuster – Sony Center

A 125,000 square foot facility. In the summer the lawn can accommodate 25,000 spectators as an outdoor amphiteater. In the winter, the center becomes an enclosed, climate controlled performing arts theater for up to 7,000 guests. Designed by Sustaita Associates, and built in 1994.

Cynthia Woods Pavilion

Redesign HVAC ductwork to integrate with Houston Symphony Orchestra Acoustical Shell. The original design performed by others did not accommodate the acoustical shell. Our firm redesigned the ductwork system and worked with an acoustical consultant to provide correct air flow and temperature with minimum noise levels.
