Description:
Customs and Border Patrol Lab
The project included the renovation of the Mickey Leland Federal Building. The areas consisted of the Penthouse P2, a 3,100 sq. ft. lab with HVAC infrastructure located on the roof, the Second Floor-7,500 sq. ft. office space renovation with microscopy and textiles lab, the conversion of a 6,000 sq. ft. child care facility to stationing for mobile labs, workshop space and storage.
The lab was designed as constant volume airflow and was designed with Phoenix lab control valves on the supply and exhaust of each lab space. This design allows for the pressurization of each lab to be maintained at all times and allows for future conversion to a variable air volume system.
